    Pookie usesDeep Pressure Therapy (DPT),a calming technique shown to reduce stress and anxiety by lowering cortisol levels and stimulating your body’s natural relaxation response. It’s like a wearable weighted blanket, but way more cuddly.

    What’s the difference between the Original and Heavyweight Pookie?

    The Heavyweight Pookie looks just like the Original Pookie, but with extra features and over double the weight. The Original Pookie weighs 2.2 lbs (1 kg), while the Heavyweight Pookie weighs 5.5 lbs (2.5 kg).

    The Original has weight mainly in the arms for a gentle hugging feel, while the Heavyweight keeps the arms weighted and adds extra weight to the body and back legs for a fuller sensory experience, perfect for laps, lounging, or deeper pressure.

    The Heavyweight version also includes Velcro arm attachments for more secure hugs, so Pookie stays in place on your shoulders while you work or relax. It also has a hidden belly pocket where you can add your own heating or cooling pack, or even extra weight if desired.

    Both versions will remain available on our website. The Original Pookie is lighter, more affordable, and often a better choice for children, while the Heavyweight Pookie is ideal for those who want a heavier, more grounding cuddle. The Heavyweight version is only available for Pookie the Panda.

    Is Pookie washable?

    Yes! We recommend spot cleaning with a damp cloth for everyday messes. For deeper cleaning, hand wash gently and air dry.

    All our weighted animals have the CPC Certificate (Children's Product Certificate) for product safety tested in the US, as well as the CE mark for product safety tested in the EU.

    Due to his weight, we don’t recommend him for very young children or pets.

    How heavy is Pookie?

    Our Original Pookie weighs 1kg / 2.2 lbs, just enough to provide calming pressure without feeling too heavy. The weight is placed on Pookie's arms so he can actually hug you and hold on to you while you work. It’s perfect for hugging while working, relaxing, or sleeping.

    Our new Heavyweight Pookie weighs over double than the original: 2.5kg / 5.5lbs. On the Heavyweight version the weight is also distributed on the body and back legs of Pookie. This version also features velcro arm attachment and a front pocket for your own cooling or heating bag. The Heavyweight version is only available for Pookie the Panda.
